INFO:

With the demise of the Fender Coronado, The Starcaster was Fender’s second attempt to get in to the Hollowbody market, going head on with Gibson who was a leading manufacturer at that time with the popular ES-335 and several others.

Designed by Gene Fields, The guitar featured the known curve of both the body and headstock of the Stratocaster. But was made during a time where CBS was in a decline. The guitar never really sold weld and was taken off the catalog in 1980.

However, the design was ressurected by 2013 and is now living among the Squier line of guitars.
