INFO:

The American Special series folows the Highway One series  to provide “Made in USA” Stratocaster for lower price. To achieve low pricing, the hardware was PING (Taiwan parts used in MIM Guitars) mounted on necks and bodies cut in USA and sent to Mexico for finishing.

All finished parts was assembled in USA. with upgraded Texas Special pickups. To cut cost more, they only came with a deluxe gig bag.

On its launch in 2010, it co-existed with Highway One model for the entire year.
