———

Originally introduced as “Brown´s Canyon Redwood Telecaster” at

NAMM ’11 advertised as made of recalimed redwood from the canyon’s train tressle bridge  from 1890 that was torn down.

About 140 of these exists as there were problems that the wood supply was overestimated and they did not receive enough to make all 500. Also, most of the  wood was not usable as well. Many of the real Brown’s Canyons guitars were sold at NAMM.

The Canyon version have a different neck plate that says  “Brown’s Canyon CA, FENDER” in a circular emblem” It also came with information and

photo´s about the bridge.
Fender managed to source up more 100 year old redwood lumber from California and Oregon to deliver the quota of 500, however, all major retailers advertised it as “Brown’s Canyon with its history and such and  many customers who pre-ordered were dissapointed that they did not get what was advertised since Fender changed their sales info shortly after release.
